Fire - Candle & Rei

I choose candle and rei to represent fire. Rei reminds me of a fresh start. When you enter class, it’s a new beginning. A candle is similar because you re-light it when it burns out (new beginning). Every-time I enter class, it lights a fire in me to be the best version of myself.

Wind - Falling Tree & Nefanchin Sandan

I saw this tree slanted and bent over from the wind storms. Surrounding it was many other falling branches and trees. This one stood strong like an iron mounted samurai. It made me think of the movement at the beginning of Nefanchin Sandan.

Water - River of rocks & Sagi Ashi Dachi

I saw this river of rocks and instantly thought of Gankaku. I choose to do the move in Gankaku on the rock (sagi ashi dachi & manji uke).

Japanese Maple Tree & Juji Uke

This was a hard one to find but I ended up finding one near a church. The leaves on the tree reminded me of the position in juji uke. The tree is rooted and grounded just like this stance (close to the ground).
