8th annual 2021 Zen course program!
The 8th annual Zen course details are listed below.
Start date: Sunday, July 4th.
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Classes: 8
Theme: Japanese culture, Martial Arts, Samurai.
Sign up deadline: June 15, 2021
The course will be hosted through Zoom. We will take advantage of the virtual element by referencing and observing shows/movies/media relating to the lessons. Discussing the history of Karate-Do, discussing various Samurai and Martial Arts stories and Also included this year will be the practice of Japanese calligraphy and painting.
As always, the course is free to sign up for but you will need materials to participate listed below. All of which can be found on Amazon through Prime and are inexpensive.
- Plain white paper (and lots of it!)
- Black paint
- Paintbrush (Calligraphy style preferred)
- A blank scroll for the final assignment.
Full details will be provided in classes. All Dojo members are expected to successfully complete the Zen program prior to obtaining their brown belt, however, several members have benefited greatly and progressed rapidly due to attending the course more than once. I strongly recommend signing up which can be done by simply emailing me or posting here of your interest to do so.
